About/Mission
The mission of the Spiritual Warfare Development Group (SWDG) is to train warrior minded Men and Women in thought-to-thought Spiritual Combat, that prepares them to wage Spiritual Warfare against the enemy forces of darkness, with the mission being "to maintain the Victory and Light" that has already been won for them.
The primary method that will achieve this mission for you is by you completing the Spiritual Combatives Course Master Class.

Spiro has a diverse business background. He provided Combatives and Tactical Training to elite Military and Law Enforcement Special Operations Units and is an Army veteran. Today, for all people, his mission is teaching the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) of Winning in Spiritual Warfare.
Full Biography
Spiro’s business industry experience includes Hospitality, Apparel Manufacturing, Business Consulting, Financial Services, and Defense and Aerospace.
Spiro is an US Army Infantry veteran and Airborne qualified.
Starting in 1994, through his company Triadi, Spiro focused on providing Combatives and Tactical Training, Education and Specialized High-Technology Equipment to the world’s most elite US and allied Military and Law Enforcement Special Operations Units, that resulted in increasing their protection, operational capabilities, and survivability, so that they could come home to their families alive and in one piece.
In 2006, Spiro spearheaded the complete revamping of the Defensive Tactics program for BORTAC (Border Patrol Tactical Unit), that eventually rolled out nationwide to the entire US Border Patrol of 20,000+ agents.
Spiro was the first Military/Law Enforcement Combatives Advisor (emeritus today) for the word famous Gracie Family, known for their self-defense training, where he began a partnership with them in 1994. The course back then that he managed was called GRAPLE (Gracie Resisting Attack Procedures For Law Enforcement) and today it's called GST (Gracie Survival Tactics).
In 2010, Spiro began selling Night Vision and Weapons related gear, along with providing Low-Light/No-Light Tactical training to Law Enforcement Special Operations Units.
Soon after, Spiro branched out to the civilian market with Emergency Preparedness, Survival and Prepper Training and Consultation.
In 2009, Spiro cofounded the company ACT Cert (Attack Countermeasures Training & Certification), which provides Home Invasion Prevention and Response, Bombing Prevention and IED Countermeasures, Kidnapping and Terrorism Survival, CCW and Gun Safety training. ACT Cert offers the only DHS Certified Active Shooter Prevention and Response course in the US, which inspired today’s “Run, Hide, Fight” national training movement.
In 2015, Spiro was the Engaged Media Outdoor Group Publisher, and was responsible for a dozen magazines in thousands of newsstands nationwide, with titles including Gun World, World of Fire Power, Tactical World, Doomsday, Home Defender, Modern Pioneer, Concealed Carry Handguns, Sniper, and the iconic American Survival Guide (today American Outdoor Guide).
Back in the early/mid-1990s, when Spiro was the Military and Law Enforcement Combatives Advisor for the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy (now Gracie University), it was the beginning days of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).

It was Spiro's job to do the marketing and sales and to fill the Military and Law Enforcement classes that the Gracie Family would teach, along with further assisting the Gracies by wearing many different hats, on and off the mat at the Gracie Academy.
Back then, the concept of "Ground-Fighting" was a completely new concept to the masses. It was an uphill climb for Spiro to fill Law Enforcement classes.
Spiro clearly remembers trying to convince Law Enforcement Officers to add Ground Fighting (Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) techniques to their training regimen, because if they knew any form of self-defense, it was striking-based (Karate, Kung Fu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Taekwondo and Muay Thai).
The most common rebuttal was “there is no way that I will fight on the ground, I will fight from a standing position.”
Spiro's counter was direct- He asked them: “What happens if you get into a clinch with a suspect and the fight goes to the ground against your will. Then what? — Will you know what to do to defend yourself, to include preventing the suspect from taking your weapon?"
These Law Enforcement Officers either remained silent (crickets) or never gave Spiro a realistic answer.
Today, most everybody involved in Self-Defense/Martial Arts/Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) includes Ground-Fighting into their training regimen. Also, today, Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) is sweeping the country, where the Gracies are trying to keep up with Law Enforcement Agencies' training requests, training thousands annually!

The point of Spiro sharing this story and his background is not to impress you but to impress upon you that you can believe that Spiritual Warfare and Spiritual Combatives is nonsense, like those misguided Law Enforcement Officers years ago who said they would "never fight on the ground", but the reality is, you have been attacked spiritually and will be attacked spiritually for your entire life.

In the mid-1990s, I was the first Military & Law Enforcement Combatives Director at Gracie Academy HQ in Torrance, now Gracie University. This journey holds a profound parallel to Spiritual Warfare. Back then, my mission was to get Law Enforcement Officers, who primarily relied on standup-based self-defense techniques, to also embrace Gracie Jiu-Jitsu ground fighting. Resistance was common, as officers would say, "I’ll fight from a standing position & not from the ground."
My response was, "What if the fight goes to the ground against your will, do you know how to defend yourself & prevent the suspect from taking your weapon?" The typical silence that followed revealed a significant gap in readiness & understanding.
I share my background not to impress you but to impress upon you to never underestimate Spiritual Warfare, much like those officers underestimated the necessity of ground fighting!— Are you prepared for when your Spiritual Fight goes to the ground, so to speak?
